Introducing share cape fear
We believe collective action and thoughtful collaboration can change the world, one community at a time. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with the newest member of the SHARE family, SHARE Cape Fear.
SHARE Cape Fear is the result of a unique collaboration between the New Hanover Disaster Coalition, United Way of the Cape Fear Area and Cape Fear Collective. Through the intuitive and flexible Share Good platform, their community will be able to connect nonprofit organizations with local supporters (“neighbors”) willing to volunteer, donate or support their work through in-kind gifts.
“SHARE Cape Fear offers simple ways for neighbors, nonprofits and businesses to come together and support our local community,” said Audrey Hart, director of the New Hanover Disaster Coalition and SHARE Cape Fear’s Executive Director. “This helps us work together to meet the needs of our community every day, as well as during emergencies, by allowing organizations to post their immediate needs. Neighbors can donate and sign up to volunteer in one place, taking the guesswork out of ‘who needs what when?’ It’s all in one place.”
Starting this week local nonprofit organizations can apply to be on the website and become a partner of SHARE Cape Fear. The site will launch this Spring giving Cape Fear neighbors the ability to search for and find local organizations to support through volunteering, financial donations or sending needed items by using the GiveShop®.
“Everyone can find a way to give through SHARE Cape Fear,” said Hart. “This is a fantastic tool we will have to help build resilience in our community.”
“As more communities across the U.S. begin to adopt the platform we’re seeing them utilize the software in different ways,” said founder and CEO Kelly Brooks. “Because every community is unique our software is intentionally flexible so it can be implemented in ways that work locally.”
Share Good is committed to making it easier for people to share what they can on their own terms. The platform exists to make it easy for nonprofits, businesses and neighbors to work together for the good of their communities. Interested in finding out how Share Good software can help your city?
